The first point of contact for our customers is one of our project managers, who will assess the text to be translated and the customer’s requirements and then allocate the project to one of our translators. The translator will then complete the translation using all the company’s resources, which include state-of the-art software (SDL Trados Studio 2014), technical dictionaries, glossaries and huge translation databases, not to mention support and advice from other team members. What’s more, if anything in the source text is unclear or if major errors are discovered, the translator will contact the customer directly with questions. When the translation has been completed, it is passed to another translator for a thorough check and the corrections are returned to the first translator. This process ensures that all the translators benefit from feedback as part of a thorough and extremely effective approach to continuous professional development. If the translation is destined to be printed and published it will undergo a final check by a third translator before being returned to you by one of our project managers.

Editing & Proofreading

We are happy to check and, where necessary, edit work that has been written or translated by other people. Perhaps one of your colleagues has volunteered to translate a press release himself, but would like it double-checked before it is released? We’d be happy to oblige.

Indeed, English can be a very complex language and sometimes even seemingly small errors can have a big impact.

The best way to get your message across to the most people is to use clear, accurate English.

However, as professional translators, Linguatext delivers native-speaker standard every time – so sending your texts to us for translation in the first place could allow you and your colleagues to concentrate on what you do best and save time. And after all, time is money.

Errors can also easily creep into a text when it is being typeset, so why not ask us to check it through for typos, hyphenation and any other errors?

Linguatext offers this service to give you extra peace of mind.

Free Website Check

Free Website Check

If you have had your website translated into English and are curious about how it looks to English speakers, we will be only too happy to take a look and give you our professional opinion – at no cost and under no obligation. As part of the free website check, one of our translators will spend around an hour checking your website to assess the quality and clarity of the language used. We will then send you a basic, unbiased review with a few specific examples of errors, should we find any. How you want to proceed is entirely up to you. Of course, if you haven’t yet had your website translated, we’ll be only too happy to offer a free, no-obligation quote for our translation services.

While editing and proofreading are usually billed on an hourly basis, translations are billed per ‘standard line’ or per word. We normally bill based on the line or word count of the translation, but can also bill based on the source text. When calculating by line we count the characters in the text and divide by 52.5 to arrive at what is known as a ‘standard line’. We can quote you prices in euros, Swiss francs and Sterling. And to make your decision easier, we also offer an introductory discount on your first three jobs.
