Services & Pricing

What exactly do we do and how much do we charge? As professional linguists, we focus on core linguistic services – translation, editing and proofreading. When it comes to pricing, we recognise that different companies have different requirements and expectations, so we try to be as flexible as we can.

Our aim is to ensure you can access top-quality language services with a minimum of fuss, no matter where your company operates.

Linguatext translates texts from German into English and from English into German. Why not other languages? By specialising in one language combination and keeping the vast bulk of our work in-house, we can pool our talents and experience to deliver the ultimate quality in the most efficient way possible.

All our translators are university qualified, experienced professionals.

Editing & Proofreading

We are happy to check and, where necessary, edit work that has been written or translated by other people. Perhaps one of your colleagues has volunteered to translate a press release himself, but would like it double-checked before it is released? We’d be happy to oblige.

Indeed, English can be a very complex language and sometimes even seemingly small errors can have a big impact.

Free Website Check

Free Website Check

If you have had your website translated into English and are curious about how it looks to English speakers, we will be only too happy to take a look and give you our professional opinion – at no cost and under no obligation. As part of the free website check, one of our translators will spend around an hour checking your website to assess the quality and clarity of the language used. We will then send you a basic, unbiased review with a few specific examples of errors, should we find any. How you want to proceed is entirely up to you. Of course, if you haven’t yet had your website translated, we’ll be only too happy to offer a free, no-obligation quote for our translation services.

While editing and proofreading are usually billed on an hourly basis, translations are billed per ‘standard line’ or per word. We normally bill based on the line or word count of the translation, but can also bill based on the source text. When calculating by line we count the characters in the text and divide by 52.5 to arrive at what is known as a ‘standard line’. We can quote you prices in euros, Swiss francs and Sterling. And to make your decision easier, we also offer an introductory discount on your first three jobs.
